easy fix

69841.jpgFirst tip I’d like to share is a product I noticed on solutions.com awhile back and thought was a great idea. A paint pen for grout! It comes in 4 colors (white, grey, almond, & charcoal). We have a tile countertop and backsplash in the kitchen. The grout was bright looking on most of the counter except closest to the sink where it was a bit dingy looking in hue. I ordered the pens to test them out for the kitchen and bathroom. I started in the kitchen and it worked amazingly well. Fast, easy and looks great! Weeks later the color is still holding up.I had a harder time in the bathroom. First I think painting the grout on a wall is a bit harder then a counter top, just because of the angle. Also, you’re going to have to scrub the soap scum of your bathroom walls like crazy. Soap leaves a waxy residue and make it repellent to the grout paint. I did one wall in the bathroom and have not since finished the rest. I’ll get back to it soon cuz it does make a noticeable difference in making old tile look fresh and new and sure beats re-grouting.
